About Ken
Ken Cutts is a higher education marketing leader with experience across public and private institutions, large and small. A first-generation college student who studied marketing and business,
His first opportunity after college was in New York City in 2003, when he began his career at a public relations firm on Madison Avenue. The blackout of 2003 was on the Friday of his first week.
He currently serves as Director of Marketing for Degree Programs at Columbia Business School, where he specializes in connecting high-level strategy with practical, day-to-day execution. Over the course of his career, Ken has led marketing and recruitment efforts at institutions in Wisconsin and New York, including Metropolitan College of New York, Cardinal Stritch University, the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and Parsons School of Design.
His agency experience, including client services roles with Spark451 and cohn&wolfe, gave him firsthand experience managing creative and strategic partnerships from the agency side while helping institutions translate goals into effective marketing work.
A strong advocate for clear, actionable communication, Ken shares industry observations and operational frameworks through his professional blog. Outside of higher education, he is the founder of Berlin Mountain Studio, a fine-art online gift shop and custom-print business.
